TESTIMONIALS

““I'm really glad I found out about Georjie's project - it's helped me realised that I can do much more that I give myself credit for. The days I've been at the workshop have been so smooth thanks to Georjie's help and guidance when it came to working with power tools I've never laid hands on before" M.R (volunteer)

"Volunteering with other like minded women at the In Her Hands project was a first for me, and it certainly won't be the last! Georjie delivered instructions in such a clear, respectful way that made me feel very comfortable and confident to experiment and play." A.H (volunteer)

"I volunteered at the barn in the first week and again when it was almost finished. The transformation in that time was incredible! Georjie was so inspiring and knowledgeable, and always took time to help me even with the most basic things. In my two sessions I learnt how to use various electric tools including the angle grinder (my favourite) as well as how to hand saw and measure things to fit properly!" K.L (volunteer)

IN DEVELOPMENT

WEB 1__edited.png

Our aim is to make the workshop space community centred and to have a strong focus on providing ways to be involved that is non-transactional. We will look at establishing on-going volunteer days, as well as specific volunteer roles, as part of the runnings of the workshop space. This might look like breaking down pallets, de-nailing and sanding wood, helping maintain tools, continuing work on the on-going developmement of the workshop space, tend to our lovely little garden and stoke the fire!

We understand that not everyone will be able to come to the workshops or be in a position to get themselves here, so we are looking to work with other NGOs and community groups to make that pathway and help bring folk here who may benefit from our services. If you think our workshop experience might be applicable to you or your project, please get in touch.
